Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and related documents dealing with corporate/commercial matters, including procurement, information technology, privacy, research, charity, construction, and intellectual property.
Identifying potential areas of legal risk/opportunity and making recommendations on risk tolerance and mechanisms to manage risk/opportunity.
Identifying and engaging with internal expertise to support contract negotiations (e.g., Risk Management, Procurement, Privacy, Information Security).
Assisting and advising on interpretation and compliance with University policies.
Providing information about corporate, commercial, legal and regulatory developments impacting the higher education sector.
Identifying issues appropriate for referral to external counsel.
